Chidananda was initiated into yoga by his father Sri S V VENKATESHAIAH , an accomplished yoga teacher. Sri Chidananda has been practicing yoga for the last 27 years under the guidance of his father Sri S V VENKATESHAIAH  Shankar Narayan Jois and Guru BNS Iyengar who is a disciple of Sri T Krishnamacharya. He began his practice at the age of 8 and has competed in state and national level programs and been awarded various prizes for it. He also has been facilitated twice as ‘Best Sports Man’ of the year for his yoga practice discipline, by the Mysore State Independence Committee. He completed his Graduation in Bachelor of Science (B Sc) through Mysore University.

  • 6:20 – 8:20 AM:Ashtanga Primary Series Practice
    • First 2 Days: Led Class
    • Remaining Days: Mysore-Style Practice

  • 10:30 – 11:20 AM: Pranayama Class

1. Ashtanga Primary Series

  • Daily Practice: Ashtanga Primary Series (6:20 – 8:20 AM)
  • Teaching Approach:
    • Days 1-2: Led Classes to introduce the sequence and rhythm.
    • Days 3-14: Mysore-Style Practice to encourage self-learning and personal adjustment.

2. Strength & Flexibility Exercises

  • Focus:
    • Building core strength and flexibility.
    • Mastering the art of transitions: Jumping Through & Jumping Back.
    • Enhancing fluidity between poses.

3. Pranayama Class

  • Basics of Breath Control:
    • Introduction to foundational pranayama techniques.
    • Understanding the importance of breath in asana practice.

4. Alignment & Teaching Methodology

  • First Day: Theoretical Foundation of Ashtanga Yoga.
  • Subsequent Days:
    • In-depth study of primary series postures.
    • Alignment principles and hands-on adjustments.
    • Teaching methodology: How to communicate effectively, provide modifications, and ensure student safety.
